The terms of using Splithaus

Last updated: 29 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Splithaus. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Splithaus. How we handle your data is set out in our privacy policy.

Who we are

Splithaus is operated by Splithaus, CVR no. 40938184. You can reach us at hello@splithaus.dk.

The service

Splithaus is a tool for keeping track of shared household expenses. We record the bills you enter and work out balances from them. Splithaus is not a bank or a payment service and never moves money — you pay each other directly (e.g. via MobilePay) and record it in the app.

Splithaus is not accounting, financial, tax or legal advice. Balances are only as accurate as the information you and your household enter.

Your account

You must give accurate information, keep your password confidential, and you're responsible for activity on your account. You must be able to enter into a binding agreement to use the service.

Acceptable use

You must not: upload illegal or infringing content; store content unrelated to a shared household; abuse the document or receipt upload (such as bulk-uploading large numbers of files); attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service; or use Splithaus for unlawful purposes or to harm others. We may remove content and suspend or terminate an account for abuse or breach of these terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload (bills, documents and receipts). You grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the service. You confirm that you have the right to upload the content and that it is lawful.

Shared households

Splithaus is collaborative: when you're invited to or join a property, your entries and certain profile details are visible to the other members, and an admin manages the property (members, and settling on behalf of apartments). You are responsible for who you invite.

Plans & payment

Splithaus is offered as a free plan and a paid Pro plan. Pro is a subscription per household, billed via Stripe, that renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current period. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with reasonable notice. Your mandatory consumer rights under Danish and EU law are unaffected.

Availability & changes

The service is provided "as is". We aim for reliable service but cannot guarantee it is always available or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Splithaus is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or disputes between household members. Splithaus is a tool and is not a party to your household's financial arrangements or disputes. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including mandatory consumer rights.

Termination

You can stop using Splithaus and delete your account at any time (see the data rights page). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or abuse the service, with notice where reasonable. On termination, your right to use the service ends and data is handled in line with the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll note material changes, and continued use means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law, and disputes are heard by the Danish courts — without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
